Growing Boy!

Yesterday we took TJ for his 2 week(ish) checkup and he now weighs 7lbs 10oz and measured in at 21.5 inches!   His doctor was very impressed with his weight gain, growth and strength.   He's already trying to pick his head up and look around,  do baby 'push-ups', and he has rolled over a few times (scary,  but impressive) Atta boy TJ!   Mom and Dad are very proud.

TJ has been sleeping like a champ at night, waking only once in the morning hours to eat-  he's already so good to his Mama!   During the day he is awake and alert for an hour here and there,   always fun watching him look around and try to figure everything out.   We are all learning more about each other every day.  This is so awesome!   But how do you get anything done when all you want do is watch your baby sleep :-)?

TJ's World!

9 days ago our lives forever changed when the cutest boy ever came into the world  ;-)   Tanoa Ellis "TJ" put up a little bit of a resistance on his way out,  but decided to join us when the clocks turned past midnight and we were out of August and in to September,  he was waiting for a few things to happen before he made his entrance-  Nana to come and for us to move into our new place so he could come straight home from the hospital.    He's a good boy!  TJ still spends most of his days sleeping and eating,  but with a little more awake time every day.    He is already very expressive and full of character,  even when he's asleep!   So far,  we have only had a few nights of little rest.   He has been pretty good about only waking up once or twice with a good stretch of sleep in between.   We have been getting more and more efficient with feedings,  which is a relief.   Things are starting to feel more routine than new,  although we are still getting used to what we are calling 'TJ time'...  everything takes so much longer with a newborn!   But by the grace of God,  with TJ came patience we didn't know we had.   He's a sweet boy,  and not to mention really cute.   He looks so much like his daddy,  except for his light hair-  we are unsure where that came from but he's very handsome.  We are both so very much in love and filled with joy,  our boy is such an amazing gift and we are so proud.
